is another product of the social thought processes of the rare visionary in Dr. Stya Paul, the president of the Apeejay Education Society (AES). It was started with the exalted vision of diversifying higher education in the newly emerging streams of professional education. The idea was to see that higher education becomes a more meaningful to our youth in finding gainful engagements in the new corporate scenario.
Thus, came into existence this Institute in the year 2000 under the aegis of the AES. Its primary objective is to support "programmes for enhancing the latent potential of our youth, with due respect to human values, as guardians of the Indian value system, acting as a vehicle of national growth in the internationally competitive environment. AIMIT is essentially a "student-driven" Institution of higher learning".In furtherance of the said objectives this institute has come to be affiliated to one of

It is both a residential and affiliating university. Spread over 500 acres in western part of the city, it has 90 affiliated colleges, 34 academic departments, and two regional centers. It is recognised by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and accredited by the NAAC as a Five Star University.
